The Tech

The Journeyman is reinforced with the finest IM7 unidirectional carbon. Its main laminates are triaxial e-glass – the industry standard. We’ve added a full ply of high tech S-glass for durability, as well as kevlar for toughness and strength, and VDS rubber to control damping. The Journeyman uses a resin-infused honeycomb tip, and only the fastest carbon-impregnated base material, stone ground to perfection.

To top it all off, and to make our product highly durable, in the sandwich of the cap construction we are using carbon nanotube resin. With billions of carbon nanotubes in the matrix, our edges and cap are tougher than anything out there.

The Core

Our standard, high-quality wood core is made from tightly laminated plies of locally harvested Aspen. The centre two layers are of Sitka Spruce to help create a lighter weight ski and a smoother ride. Integrated as a top lamination, White Oak is applied for strength, to enhance binder retention and to facilitate power transfer to the edges.
